Loneliness & Connection – Call To Action

Over the past year, we have been proud to work alongside nine other leading organisations, from across the loneliness sector to help develop a new cross-government Call to Action on loneliness and social connection.

The document urges policymakers to recognise social connection as a national priority and take a more coordinated approach to preventing loneliness across all areas of society.

It calls for greater action to tackle workplace loneliness, strengthen support for young people, invest in community spaces, and recognise social health alongside physical and mental health as a fundamental part of wellbeing.

Read the full Call to Action to explore the recommendations and our vision for a more connected society.

#TheLonelyMillion

The latest ONS data shows that approximately 1 in 10 young adults in the UK struggle with chronic loneliness.

That equates to roughly 1 million young adults experiencing prolonged and often debilitating levels of loneliness daily.

#TheLonelyMillion campaign aimed to spotlight the growing prevalence of loneliness amongst young adults, educate the public about its impact, and support and empower young people to speak out about loneliness.
