Friendships At Sea

The Itinerary

Five destinations. One luxury cruise ship. Seven days of unforgettable memories.

25th April – 2nd May 2026

Day 1

Civitavecchia (for Rome), Italy

Day 1 – Saturday 25th April 2026

Arrival day is about the transition into the trip and setting the tone for the week ahead. After travelling and boarding, there’s time to get settled, unpack, explore the ship and find your bearings. It’s a chance to slow down, switch out of travel mode and ease into things properly.

As the ship departs, there’s the option to gather for sail-away drinks, watch the coastline slip away and mark the start of the journey. The evening brings our first dinner together as a group – a relaxed way to meet properly, settle in and kick off the week without rushing straight into sightseeing.

Unless you choose to arrive a day earlier, we’ll be saving most of our Rome exploration for the final day, when we can give it proper time and attention.

Day 2

Salerno, Italy

Day 2 – Sunday 26th April 2026

Salerno is a relaxed coastal city with a working Italian feel, sitting between the Amalfi Coast and Campania’s major historical sites

From here, it’s straightforward to reach Pompeii and Herculaneum –  both Roman cities preserved by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD.

Walking their streets means passing bakeries with original ovens, villas with surviving frescoes, public baths, forums and temples, all laid out much as they were nearly 2,000 years ago.

Back in Salerno, the city itself is easy to explore on foot – wandering the Old Town, visiting the cathedral, or walking along the seafront. You can also head up to the Garden of Minerva, a historic terraced botanical garden, or up to Arechi Castle for wide views across the bay.

It’s also a short bus ride to nearby towns such as Vietri sul Mare, known for its ceramics, colourful streets and coastal walks.

Day 3

Day At Sea

Day 3 – Monday 27th April 2026

Our first day at sea is a chance to properly explore the ship and get involved in what’s on offer. It’s a good time to familiarise yourself with the layout, find your favourite spots and try some of the more social or active options onboard.

Across the day, there are usually organised activities such as sports tournaments, deck games, quizzes and group challenges.

Facilities like the gym, running track and crazy golf are easy to dip in and out of, and there’s often light daytime entertainment happening in shared spaces. It can be as busy or as relaxed as you want it to be and a great chance to properly settle into ship life.

Day 4

Santorini, Greece

Day 4 – Tuesday 28th April 2026

Santorini is one of Greece’s most recognisable and photographed islands, known for its dramatic volcanic cliffs, whitewashed buildings and wide views across the caldera.

From the Old Port, we can reach the town of Fira via the cable car, which climbs steeply up the cliffs and offers sweeping views across the Aegean. Fira itself has narrow streets, small shops, cafés and cliffside paths leading to well-known viewpoints such as the Three Bells of Fira.

Other options on the island include boat trips across the caldera to Nea Kameni and the hot springs, where visitors walk on volcanic terrain and swim in mineral-rich water. There are also guided island tours that travel through traditional villages, churches and quieter viewpoints away from the main walking routes.

Day 5

Kusadasi, Turkey

Day 5 – Wednesday 29th April 2026

Kuşadası is a lively port town on Turkey’s western coast, combining beachside energy with access to some of the country’s most important ancient sites. The town itself is compact and easy to walk, with a busy harbour area and plenty of places to eat and shop.

In the surrounding countryside, outdoor activities include quad biking along forest tracks and open trails with views towards the coast.

A short drive inland is Ephesus, one of the best-preserved ancient cities in the Mediterranean. The site includes marble streets, the Library of Celsus, a large Roman theatre, temples, public squares and residential areas, usually explored with guided or audio support.

Day 6

Katakolon, Greece

Day 6 – Thursday 30th April 2026

Katakolon is a small, low-key port with a noticeably slower pace than earlier stops. It’s surrounded by flat countryside and long sandy beaches, making it an easy place to spend a relaxed afternoon.

Nearby beaches such as Kourouta are known for shallow water, soft sand and a long promenade lined with cafés and tavernas. Time can be spent swimming, walking or sitting by the sea.

Katakolon also serves as the access point for Ancient Olympia, the birthplace of the Olympic Games. The archaeological site includes temples, training areas and the original stadium, set in green surroundings and typically explored at an unhurried pace with self-guided or audio guides.

Day 7

Day At Sea

Day 7 – Friday 1st May 2026

Coming towards the end of the trip, the final sea day is a perfect chance to slow down and recharge after a week of travelling, exploring and early mornings.

This is a great day for quieter activities – spending time by the pool or in the hot tubs, chilling with some board games, or getting involved with parts of the programmed schedule if you feel like it.

There’s also the option to book a spa treatment such as massages, thermal suites or beauty services and the fitness centre is available for a workout or class.

Day 8

Civitavecchia (for Rome)

Day 8 – Saturday 2nd May 2026

After we’ve checked out and disembarked, we’ll be travelling into Rome – a city layered with over two thousand years of history.

Time in the city can be spent walking through areas shaped by ancient, medieval and Renaissance Rome – passing sites such as the Colosseum and Roman Forum, baroque piazzas like Piazza Navona, and enduring landmarks including the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps.

For those who want a more structured experience, there will be the option to do tours of specific historical sites, while others may prefer to wander, stop for food, or simply absorb the atmosphere before we head to the airport to say goodbye.

Your questions, answered

Are activities in each city organised?

We’ll suggest optional ideas and shared plans in each destination, but nothing is compulsory and nothing is overly formal. You’re welcome to explore alone, pair up with others, or join a small group. The aim is to make connection easy, not to dictate how you spend your time.

Will we spend time together as a group every day?

There are usually a few shared touchpoints each day, such as group dinners or suggested activities, but nothing is compulsory. You’re free to join in as much or as little as you like.

Some people enjoy spending lots of time together, others dip in and out or take time to themselves. The trip is designed to make connection easy without ever feeling forced.

What happens on sea days?

Sea days are an intentional part of the experience. They’re a chance to enjoy the ship, rest between destinations, and spend unhurried time with others. You might join onboard activities, sit by the pool, read, chat, nap, or do very little at all. Many people find these are the days when friendships really deepen, simply because there’s time and space to be present.

How much will the activities cost at each city?

At each destination, there will also be optional activities you can choose to take part in.

Where there’s a main group activity planned for the day, we’ll actively look for discounts, group rates or good-value options to help keep costs as low as possible. Participation is always optional, and you’re free to explore independently or do your own thing if you prefer.

Any costs will also be shared clearly in advance, so you can decide what you want to join without pressure.

Are the onboard activities included?

Yes. Most onboard activities are included in your cruise fare. This includes things like quizzes, gameshows, live entertainment, use of the gym, pools and hot tubs, and Movies Under the Stars.

Some optional extras – such as spa treatments, specialist classes or tastings – may cost extra, but these are entirely optional and clearly priced onboard.
